Milan Design Week

Before the pandemic/ baby Otis days, Milan design week was the trip I looked forward to every year - a tidal wave of inspiration, I would go for 4 days and be as busy as you can imagine emerging myself in a visual bombardment that feels like the very centre of the design world. This year will be my first visit back for a few years and while I only have 24 hours from when the plane hits tarmac I intend to make the most of that limited time. Planning is everything with a never ending list of must see and experience things to do so here are some gems from my research.

NILUFAR ALCOVA

The collective show Brassless, which is part of the FAR program curated by StudioVedèt,

VILLA BOSANI

Beyond the city limitations, Alcova continues to scale, combining a pair of the adored villas, from modernist Villa Borsani and the Lombard Baroque-style Villa Bagatti Valsecchi.

RHODE ISLAND SCHOOL OF DESIGN

"first-ever global multidisciplinary presentation of work"

Objects May Shift by Rhode Island School of Design.

THINKING ROOM BY DAVID LYNCH

David lynch thinking room, an immersive, worldly experience with a simple narrative to cross the mirrored room.

FAYE TOOGOOD

Rude Arts Club by Faye Toogood, known for her minimal, structural furniture pieces.

THINGS TO DO IN MILAN

I would normally never leave without a visit to villa Necchi and Fondazione Prada but as I have such little time I will try and resist and find new favourites.

VILLA NECCHI

Fondazione Prada

PLACES TO EAT

GIACOMO MILANO

One of my absolute favourite restaurants when I’m in Milan.

bar basso

And before crawling back to my basic room at the airport will be sure to have a negroni or 3!

I will be celebrating Rubelli and Luke Edward hall and Cabana at Ralph Lauren, can’t wait!
